THREE TRUTHS AND A LIE

Hello Snowballers. Once your group is together, find a place to sit. Your task is to play a game of two truths and a lie—with a twist.

First, find four napkins, on three of them write the word TRUTH and on the fourth write LIE, then fold them all in half so the words cannot be read and place them in the center of the table.

The game play goes like this: for each round all of you will take a single napkin from the center, and without letting your neighbors see, look to determine if you are telling the TRUTH, or if you will be the one LIAR for the round.

Go through the circle and each of you with a TRUTH slip tell one honest thing about yourself, while the person holding the LIE slip, will, well, lie with the aim of convincing the others that you are in fact telling the truth. Once everyone has told their “truth” you must decide who you think is lying.

On a count of three each “shoot” the person you suspect is not being honest. If no one guesses correctly, the liar wins a point, otherwise, everyone who correctly guesses the LIE gets a point. Keep track of these points.

Put the napkins back in the center and mix them around, and continue on. As you play, your truths/lies should become more complex. While you may start off with a simple statement such as “I don’t like chocolate” the longer you play the more revealing and open your secrets should be, “I once was arrested for drunkenly streaking down my street in college.” etc.

Before you leave, tally up the points and see who has the most. This is the new Sheriff in town, and for the rest of the evening, you must salute them whenever you make eye contact with them, even if it is accidental. Post a picture of the proud Sheriff and their final score.ll!
